January Kombucha Flavors

Italian Soda

A light and refreshing blend of organic blood orange and sage (fresh-dried from the farm). The blood orange provides a vitamin packed punch with a deep orange color. Sage is an anti-inflammatory, anti-viral agent and as a a member of the Salvia species have been found to protect against oxidative stress, digestive and circulatory function and mental health.

Blue Bahmb

Back again, because when isn't blueberry, vanilla and cinnamon w/a touch of lemon zest not a good idea?? You all seem to love it, and so do we. We're up to producing 5 gallons a month now and will keep going just as long as you're enjoying it.

Raspberry Mint

These raspberries (flash-frozen from the farm) just don't stop giving with their fresh flavor and tangy punch. The peppermint is still going strong and providing a refreshing pick-me-up to the blend. As usual, all of the flavors are infused with fresh ginger, so there's a little bit of a spicy kick when all three flavors meet on the taste buds.

Pear-y Cheer

Winter months are dark(er), cold(er) and require a certain amount of reminiscing about the fruity days of summer and fall. This light and refreshing blend combines the adaptogenic supports ginger and sage provide with the lightly sweet and subtle reminder of summer that pear provides.

Ingredients includes: Fresh pear combined with sage and the perennial ginger.

A couple of combos I like:

  • Blueberry & Kapha - great in the morning for an overall immunity boost and antioxidant infusion.

  • Fresh orange slices or pineapple in the Italian Soda - it's a delightful flavor by itself, but the added fresh fruit just amps it all up a notch.

Your feedback is always welcome. I'm particularly interested in how the flavors taste from your perspective. As always, the pH of the F1 (first draw) is typically between 3.0 and 3.2. I've been pulling them right around 3.1 the last couple of times, so you may have noticed a little more tang to the flavors. I'm also curious about whether you can taste the herbs in conjunction with the fruits used. How do they meld together? Do any clash for you? The T&D from last month is a good example of how flavors complement each other and blend into a delightful beverage, for me (plus, I really like the beery-ness of this blend). And, if you refrigerate yours, let me know: I have a couple of questions to ask you about how it holds up.

Thanks for continuing to support my/our booch habit! And happy to share the bounty with you. Donations are always welcome (via Venmo CashApp or Google Pay), and $25/mo. entitles you to a gift of up to 1 gal. of kombucha.

Hope you are comfy and cozy in this mid-winter month.
